Description: 

This lovely variation of maple( generally soft) is characterized by small "Worm holes" caused by ambrosia beetles boring into the tree, it also has unique brown black and grey streaks. These distinct features ensure that there are no 2 identical pieces ensuring your work will stand out. 

Workability:   

Easier to mill than hard maple, it is easily worked with hand tools, or machinery. But don't be tricked it will still burn if you give it the chance. Turns , finishes and glues well, some times requires a pre-conditioning gel, or toner prior to staining to ensure even finish. 

Common uses: 

Commonly used in Flooring, furniture , cabinetry. It is a prized material for turners and luthiers due to its unique patterns .
