Jatoba, AKA Brazilian cherry is a beautiful exotic hardwood.  The heartwood varies from light orange/brown to red/brown, with light grey streaks. The wood darkens over time as exposed to light.  With interlocking grains and a coarse texture

Workability:

Considered to be difficult to work with on account of its high density, and hardness, its sure to have a blunting effect on blades. It is prone to tear out due to its interlocking grains. However it does glue, stain and turn well
